This qualification enables workers to work in the construction industry anywhere in Australia.  The course covers the following units of competency:

 

  • CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.

This qualification will enable participants to create a traffic management plan (TMP) as well as design, select and modify Traffic Control Plans (TCPs), also known as Traffic Control Guidance Schemes (TCGSs) and conduct inspections. The course covers the following units of competency:

RIIRIS402E Carry Out the risk management process

RIICWD503E Prepare Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Scheme

This qualification is for employees who manage traffic through and/or past a roadwork site, directing traffic with a stop/slow bat or similar control device (excludes preparing TCPs).

The course covers the following units of competency:

  • RIICOM201E Communicate in the workplace

  • RIIWHS201E Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures

  • RIIWHS205E Control traffic with stop-slow bat

  • RIIWHS206 Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs

This course will provide elected HSRs with information and skills required for HSRs under the WHS (Commonwealth) legislation. 

 

The course covers the following course objectives:

 

  • Understand the structure, purpose and key provisions of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Regulations 2011 (Commonwealth)

  • Understand the role, function and powers of a health and safety representative under the provision of the WHS Act 2011 (Commonwealth)

  • Develop the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out the role of the health and safety representative within their work group

  • Gain practical skills for implementing the health and safety representative role in Commonwealth workplaces

This qualification is for employees who are required to setup Traffic Control Guidance Schemes (TCGs) also known as Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) in accordance with approved Traffic Management Plans.  The course covers the following units of competency:

  • RIICOM201E Communicate in the workplace

  • RIIWHS201E Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures

  • RIIRIS301E Apply risk management processes

  • RIIWHS302E Implement traffic management plans

  • RIIWHS303 Position, set up and program portable traffic control devices

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is a process that assesses your competency acquired through formal and informal learning to determine if you meet the requirements for a unit of competency.

 

TMT can use a variety of documentation to apply for RPL. This includes, but is not limited to: 

  • records of completed training and current qualifications

  • assessment items

  • assessment records

  • declarations from your employer, and/or

  • a copy of your student records provided by ASQA
