Service Description

Approved work health and safety training providers help health and safety representatives (HSRs) to understand and fulfill their role and functions. Initial five day (5 day) training course provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfil their role as a Health and Safety Representative. HSRs are entitled to attend an approved five-day training course in work health and safety and a one day refresher course each year during their term of office. Health and Safety Representative Training will give HSRs and deputy HSRs an understanding of WHS legislation and how it applies to their role. Participants will gain the skills and knowledge required under the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2011, and become familiar with requirements for consultation, enforcement measures available for breaches of legislation, and duties of various stakeholders that can influence WHS. This SafeWork NSW approved 5-day Health and Safety Representative (HSRs) Course meets the requirements of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulation 2017 for HSRs and deputy HSRs elected under the WHS Act 2017. DAY 1 > The WHS legislative framework and the duties and obligations of key parties • WHS legislative framework • Duty holders and their duties • New terminology • The role and function of SafeWork NSW DAY 2 > Establishing representation in the workplace • Consultation, representation, and participation • Election of HSRs and deputy HSRs in the workplace • The role of HSRs, deputy HSRs and Health and Safety Committee • PCBU obligations DAY 3 > Effective consultation: Participation in issue resolution and monitoring risk controls as a HSR • Effective consultation for Health and Safety Representatives, strategies and skills • Representing workers as a HSR • Monitoring and review of risk controls DAY 4 > Monitoring PCBUs’ management of work health and safety • Workplace inspections and recording findings • Obligations relating to ‘notifiable incidents’ DAY 5 > Issuing a Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN) • Purpose and function of a PIN and the process for issuing a PIN • Directing unsafe work to cease • Course Summary and Evaluation

Cancellation Policy

If Traffic Management Training Pty Ltd cancels any course for any reason, the client will receive a full refund, or at the client’s election, a credit towards a future course. Payments processed via Square Online are only eligible to be refunded within 120 days of the original payment date. Refunds can take between 9 to 14 business days to complete. We are unable to expedite the refund timeline. If a client/customer fails to attend the course after confirming their booking, the client/customer will be invoiced for the full cost of the course (CTF subsidies do not apply). Please note: Any cancellations not received at least 24 hours prior to the course commencing during working hours/business days, will incur an administrative charge of $50.
